Summarization:  

It is a kind of functional road marking material, mainly used for applying convex road marking line, vehicle will be vibrating to warn driver going off road lane when tyres of vehicle roll on convex line. The height of convex can reach 5-7mm. It has super impact resistance and compression resistance, and can maintain the convex shape for a long time. Profiled-type thermoplastic road marking paint is widely used in road center, edge line and curve on highway, or at ramp and intersection as deceleration marking.

Application and film thickness:

Application requires the skills of trained personnel and specialized equipment. It is applied by screed/extrusion method, . The material is heated to an application temperature of 180°C to 200°C with a maximum temperature of 230°C. General base marking thickness is 1.5-2.0mm (recommended thickness 2.0mm), convex height can reach 5-7mm, consumption per square meter is about 7kgs according to different application method, thickness and situation of road surface.

Application of Glass Beads:

It is important that the specified film thickness is achieved in order to maximise glass bead retention and the wearing properties of the marking.

• drop-on glass beads should comply with required standard, applied at the rate of 0.3~0.4kg per sq. meter, require a dry film thickness of 1.8 mm for optimum retroreflectivity. It can be applied at a film build of 1.5~3.0mm.

• To ensure maximum bead adhesion retention, the beads must be applied immediately after spraying on surface of road, then the marking needs to be protected from traffic until it dries.

Surface Preparation:

The road surface to be painted must be dry and free of any grease, oil, dirt, gravel, flaking pavement materials and any loose foreign material. The temperature of the surface should be above 10°C. If the surface has been previously marked or treated (such as the application of curing compounds with concrete) then a compatibility check should be carried out to establish if any surface preparation is necessary. The use of Primer has proven to be successful as a priming coat on surfaces where thermoplastic road marking Paint has experienced adhesion.

Transport:

Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint is not classed as dangerous goods by Chinese Testing and Technical center for dangerous goods and packing(DPTC) by Road or Railway or Ocean.

Storage:

Store under cover in a dry, cool, ventilation area, protected from moisture. Stock should be rotated and used within 12 months from the date of manufacture. Improper storage environment may lead to undesirable condition, such as changes in color, serious hardening and other problems.
