The embedding effect of surface glass bead in practice has a decisive influence on retro-reflecting coefficient of thermoplastic road marking.
Theory testing and practical experience shows that the reflection effect of the glass bead is most ideal when the radius of the glass bead in marking line is no more than two-thirds of its diameter. When the coating temperature is high or the glass beads spread too quickly, the glass beads will be mostly or all immersed in the coating, so that the marking loses the reflective effect. If the coating temperature is low or the glass beads spread slowly, the coating surface is close to curing, the glass beads will float on the surface of the line, easy to fall off, and when there is light, because most of the light directly through without reflection, greatly affect the reflective effect.
In addition, the scattered amount of glass beads is also very important on the reflective effect . If the amount is too little, the reflective effect is not good. If the amount of glass bead accumulation is easy to cause the reverse coefficient is not high, and increase the construction cost, but also easy to cause the coating surface dirty.
Therefore, The correct control of the construction temperature of thermoplastic road marking paint is the key to achieve reflective effect of surface glass beads.
