According to mainichi Shimbun on August 13, the Tanzanian Urban and Rural Roads Authority (TARURA) held a three-day special meeting in Dodoma to discuss strengthening the construction of urban and rural roads in Tanzania.

The Tanzanian government will spend 3.6 trillion shillings (about 1.56 billion US dollars) over the next five years to expand the road network nationwide, increasing the total length of asphalt roads to 3,855.65 km from the current 2,404.9 km, an official said on August 12.
