The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $235 million loan to support modernisation of The Shikarpur-Rajanpur section of Pakistan's National Highway 55.

The 222-km Shikarpur-Rajanpur section will be expanded from two lanes to four lanes. The project also includes the construction of bus stops, emergency response centers and traffic police facilities.

The project will also support a five-year training program covering the operation, maintenance and design of road projects, according to an ADB press release.
