General information:
The beads shall be dry, free of lumps, clusters, transparent, clean, colorless glass, smooth and spherically shaped, free from milkiness, pits, or excessive air bubbles and conform to the following specific requirements.
-- Defective rate - less than 20% of total quality.
-- Roundness - The glass beads(particles 0.6-0.8mm) shall have a minimum of 70 percent true spheres.
-- Refractive index - The glass beads shall have a minimum refractive index of 1.50.
-- Density - ≥ 2.4g/cm3 min.
-- Magnetic particle content - ≤0.1%
General gradation of Glass Beads
NO. 1 - shall be known as drop-on application for thermoplastic, two-component and water-based paint.
NO. 2 - shall be known as premixed application for thermoplastic, two-component and water-based paint.
NO. 3 - shall be known as drop-on application for cold-solvent paint.
Specific Properties.
The beads shall meet the gradation requirements for types as given in Table 1.
